On 28 January, Birds restaurant and club, situated on the 84th floor of the OKO Tower in Moscow-City, was granted a certificate from the Russian Book of Records as "the highest restaurant and club in Europe". This step is the first requirement for attempting to set the world record.

Today, restaurants that feature panoramic views have already become the new tourist attractions in different cities all over the world. This includes 1-Altitude, located as high as 282 m in Singapore's Raffles Place, Seoul's Urban Delight on the 81st floor of Lotte World Tower and Le Bain, a rooftop bar on the top The Standard Hotel in New York. These venues are famous for the best panoramic views attracting tourists from all over the world.

Today, Moscow restaurants and cafes are on par with the main sights of the Russian capital. There are around 13 thousand cafes, restaurants and snack bars in Moscow, jointly featuring almost all of the world's cuisines. New locations such as Danilovsky, Usachyovsky and Central markets, Depo, etc. are becoming Moscow's new brands. The city hosts annual food festivals.

Apart from that, three Moscow restaurants were listed in The World's Best Restaurants annual ranking in 2019. White Rabbit took the 13th place in The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2019, which set the record for Russian dining locations. Twins Garden by the Berezutsky twins occupied the 19th place, while Selfie restaurant ranked the 65th.

For reference:

Birds restaurant and club is a project by 354 Exclusive Height by Aleksei Vasilchuk, Ilya Meleshkin and Dmitry Yozhikov. The location opened its doors in November 2019. The venue unites different genres — from immersive scenes, courtesy of actors from Moscow's leading theatres, to gastronomic shows. It is currently a multi-format art object, which opens at 6 p.m. as an evening restaurant with original cuisine (chef Aleksandr Railyan, named Russia's Best Young Chef 2018) and shows a top-notch performance from 10 p.m. daily. "Only love is higher", another project by 354 Exclusive Height, had previously also set a record in the OKO Tower, registered in the Russian Book of Records. The observation deck on top of the skyscraper is recognised as "the highest open-air observation deck in Europe".
